ABOUT STEPHANIE
Stephanie Caprara is a passionate and talented pop singer / songwriter. With over 20 years of experience as a performer and professional singer, she is an unstoppable force with a big voice and charismatic stage presence. She grew up in Montreal, Canada where her talent and passion for music became obvious at an early age. Listening to music from different decades characterized her creative and musical abilities. It was at an early age that she taught herself to interpret the pop tunes from divas such as, Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston, with her own distinctive and unique style. At the age of 8 years old she began to take classical piano lessons and began popular voice training at 13 to perfect her talent and pursue her career as a professional singer. Eager to perform, Stephanie participated in a number of competitions and always ranked in the top three. Notably in 2002, “The Johnny Lombardi Canadian - Italian Song Festival” in Toronto, where she performed on a live televised show at Canada’s Wonderland in front of a crowd of thousands of spectators and placed 2nd. She performed in many local and provincial events / festivals and always received rave reviews.
Her first radio play came in September 2002 with the dance mix of the Phil Collins hit, “In the Air Tonight” produced by Tycoon Records. Her songwriting abilities have been recognized by the Canadian Radio Star - National Songwriting Competition in 2004 where her song, “You Won’t See Me Cry” placed 6th among hundreds of entrants. In March 2007 Stephanie was invited to sing for a corporate event for the American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong, China.
In October 2007 Stephanie packed her bags and headed off to the great and exciting city of New York. She had the grand opportunity of working with many talented musicians and songwriters; performing at various venues in New York City and New Jersey. During this time she worked with New York based songwriter and producer, Frank Portalatin. Together they wrote “Don’t Let Go”, a song on her debut album “Blissful Sounds.”
Her voice has been featured on a Quebec French release “Nouvel Autrefois” by the artist XLA, on the track entitled “Angle Obtus”, featuring and co-written by Jérôme-Philippe Bélinga (certified Platinum group “Dubmatique”). In 2010 she had the opportunity to be the opening act for Canadian Artist Shawn Desman at his show in Montreal.
Stephanie’s music has been featured on Radio around the world. Notably various radio stations in the USA, UK, Australia, Germany, Netherlands and Canada. She has had the great opportunity of working with talented songwriters and producers throughout her career, such as Sari Dajani, Steve Galante, Rizwan, Katlego, and more. She has a great deal of stage and performance experience, as well as working as a session singer in various recording studios in North America. She is also a recognized and experienced vocal coach and music teacher. She has performed with various Top 40 bands in Canada, the United States and Asia. Her style is a refreshing and unique fusion of Pop, R&B, Funk, Blues, Soul, Jazz and Hip-Hop. This incredible lady possesses a great passion that clearly shines through her music. Her soulful, exceptional, powerful voice will leave you yearning for more.
